The art of retrospection
When a new year starts, everybody likes to present reviews, yearly plans and forecasts – in corporations as well as in politics, or in the private domain – although here, it is more about „new year’s resolutions“.
Whatever these may be, it is always about evaluating the past year and daring a glimpse at the new one. It is always exciting to ask ourselves: “How can we do this and how do we get to the right insights for ourselves?”
We, at PQ+, are no exceptions. We have also begun the journey of retrospection onto 2005 and of preview on 2006. We let the following questions guide us:
What are the most important things that happened to us in 2005?
What was really good among these, and what was more challenging?
Which hurdles did we master?
With what did we have to part?
What are the new aspects of PQ+ in 2005?
What made us happy, and what are we thankful for?
What do we wish to achieve in 2006, and what do we want to see completed?
Again, it was amazing what kind of answers we found, and how easy it is to derive guidelines for the future. The right questions lead to success – finally to business excellence.
Each of us can ask such questions. About her/his personal circumstances in life as well as the current situation of her/his company. In many cases, this goes hand in hand.
With our answers, we draw the consequences for objectives, quality and „productivity” of both our personal life and our companies, and the contributions we make in both.
