Appreciation advances added value
Many studies lately prove what we all sense since a long time: it is not incentives, nor career advancement, nor compensation that motivate a good performance of employees – it is respect, recognition and politeness. In a nutshell: The key to motivation is appreciation – work-related and personally. Employees worldwide agree in appreciation as an important factor of their satisfaction. The classical factors listed above are rather seen as a prerequisite.
A key factor of success in establishing appreciation as process and individual ability in the company is communication, a field of competence within PQ+ Network. In organizations with engaged workforces communication cascades flow top-down – from top management to employees in a timely and orderly fashion – and processes are established bottom-up – information flows back from employees to top management. In organizations with engaged workforces the management is trained to actively disseminate information, handle questions well and provide feedback. In organizations with engaged workforces communication is planned, and at the same time flexible enough to face unexpected situations. In organizations with engaged workforces employer preferred communication vehicles are installed.
Thus it is also statistically proved, that added value and appreciation are connected: up to one third of a company´s financial performance depends on appreciation.
